Meet Dr. Ron Banik
Dr. Ron Banik has been practicing dentistry in Charleston since 1999. He graduated from the College of Charleston (BS in Biology) and received his doctorate from the Medical University of SC, College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Banik also completed an advanced General Practice Residency at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC expanding his knowledge in oral surgery, dental implants, hospital patient care, trauma, sedation, and comprehensive restorative dentistry. Dr. Banik attends numerous advanced dental courses each year and is a member of several dental and community organizations. In 2004, he was awarded Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in recognition of his continuing pursuit of dental education and excellence. Additionally Dr. Banik is an attending dentist at Smiles for a Lifetime rural dental clinics providing care to disadvantaged children of South Carolina.
Personally, Dr. Banik enjoys spending time with family, friends, and his wife Sumita, who is a pediatrician at Sweetgrass Pediatrics. He is an avid tennis player in competitive USTA tennis leagues and tournaments and also holds a black belt in karate. He also enjoys traveling, biking, and other outdoors activities.
